Project CARS has a big discount as part of Steam’s Winter Sale. For $12 CDN it’s hard to say it isn’t a bargain but is it still worth it? I haven’t played any PC racing games for a while and since I’ve got next week off from work I might need to fill my time somehow. Thoughts from Opponauts?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And yes, my PC should not have any issues running the game.

I think it’s best with a nice wheel. If you don’t have one of those, you can’t really get the full experience of it. But if it’s at a good price, definitely go for it. It’s a beautiful game with very realistic physics.

It’s worth it.

Absolutely worth it if you have a wheel. A bit difficult otherwise but the force feedback is great once you dial it in. Great track list and weather system, plus time of day cycling. Car selection varies but the popular categories are pretty flushed out.

The base game is definitely worth more than the $12 face value. There’s a demo with the paganis if you want to give it a go.

Xbox controller probably won’t do the trick either... but maybe Santa will get me a wheel?

Playing it with an xbox controller is infuriating but with a wheel it is decent. Not my favorite racing game but still pretty fun.

Probably the best racing Sim I’ve played that doesn’t have a stupid learning curve. 10/10

What wheel do you have? The Logitech G29 is available for $380 on Amazon right now, but it doesn’t have the most glowing reviews.

It’s down to $9.89 now. But that’s not what you want.

You want the $21.56 bundle, with all of the DLC.

Be aware that you will probably need to find a good setup guide for the wheel of your choice. And, yes, you will need a wheel. (I mean, maybe you could use a 360/Xbox One controller, but no, just get a wheel.)

I really enjoy it but the amount of road cars in it is appalling.

I have a G27. I’d recommend looking at a T150/TMX though, the belt system is much smoother than Logitech’s gear mechanism. Try one out in store if you can.

Oddly enough, I bought PC early on sale, and did not play much at all because my wheel is not compatible.
